A Hill Above Dealu Mare — Arta Chalet
An hour from Bucharest, and you wouldn't expect any of it.
Dealu Mare is the wine country of the Southern Subcarpathians — Prahova and Buzău counties, vineyards from 130 to over 500 metres, one of Romania's oldest and most concentrated growing regions. Malu Roșu sits at the top of it. Arta Chalet is there, on that hill.
The first thing you notice when you arrive isn't a cabin. It's Mikaffa — a specialty coffee roastery, its counter and equipment visible through the glass, terrace facing the courtyard. A separate project from Arta Chalet, same owner, same hill. Coffee roasted on-site. Open Thursday to Sunday from 10:00.
Above everything else: Studio Apollo. The property's highest point. The smallest cabin. The best view. For two people who want to be above the rest of it for a few days.
The cabins
Down the stone steps, the A-Frame cabins — Azaleya and Cataleya, built identically, placed differently. Ground floor: an open kitchen and living area, a bedroom with its own bathroom. First floor: a second bedroom, a separate bathroom. Second floor: the loft — windows on both sides, light arriving from two directions. In the morning, hills. Up to 6 guests each.
Further into the property, Terra with its forest view — more enclosed, a different quality of quiet. And Aria deeper still, the most secluded position on the property, with a clear view over the valley below. Both for up to 3.
The lower courtyard
At the bottom of the steps: an open fire pit on the central lawn. And the ciubăr — a wooden hot tub, hidden completely in the forest, found rather than signposted. Available at 350 RON per day, reserved for your group alone. It takes 5–6 hours to heat. Book it the day before.

Metres from the cabins. A separate coffee project, roasted on-site, on the same hill. Thursday to Sunday from 10:00.
Getting here
A3 and A7 from Bucharest, exit toward Ceptura, Prahova. One hour. Check-in from 15:00, fully independent — gate and cabin safe codes sent via WhatsApp before you arrive. Check-out at 11:00. Private parking, free. Pets welcome, 250 RON per stay.
